Cardiff South and Penarth Liberal Democrats have selected Dominic Hannigan to fight the seat at the 2007 Welsh Assembly Elections. The Liberal Democrats have made great strides forward in this area and will provide a real challenge next year.

Dominic Hannigan said, "For too long Labour have taken Cardiff South and Penarth for granted. Labour are failing to deliver at Westminster and the Assembly, and Wales is bearing the brunt of it. I believe the Liberal Democrats offer a real alternative to the disappointment of Labour."

The Liberal Democrats are the growing party in Cardiff South and Penarth. In 2004 they took five council seats from Labour, and took an 8% swing at last years general election.

Gavin Cox, Liberal Democrat councillor for Splott and Regional Assembly candidate, said, "Dominic will be a strong voice for Cardiff South and Penarth. He will be an excellent addition to our team, standing up for the residents of Cardiff South and Penarth."

Dominic has a good track record of campaigning hard in Cardiff, and was backed unanimously by Cardiff South and Penarth Liberal Democrats. Dominic is a keen environmental campaigner, and is backing the Lib Dems campaign to switch more taxation onto Green Taxes.
