Charles and Dominic were joined by Welsh Lib Dem regional candidate, John Dixon and Cardiff West candidate, Alison Goldsworthy

Former Lib Dem leader visited Cardiff South and Penarth this weekend to see the new international sports village and to give his backing to Dominic Hannigan's Assembly Election campaign.

Charles and Dominic were shown around the international sports village in Grangetown, which is a fantastic example of how the Lib Dems on Cardiff Council are regenerating the poorest parts of the city.

Dominic Hannigan said, "It was wonderful that Charles could visit me in Cardiff South and Penarth. Charles is a great campaigner and a wonderfully warm and friendly man."

"He told me how impressed he was with what Lib Dem run Cardiff Council is doing for regeneration in the area."

"Charles visit just goes to show how seriously we are taking this election. It is now widely accepted that the Welsh Lib Dems are the only party who can beat Labour in this constituency."
