Lib Dem members in Cardiff South and Penarth constituency this week chose local campaigner, Dominic Hannigan to challenge Alun Michael and Labour in the next General election.

Dominic Hannigan is well known in the area and stood for the Lib Dems in the Assembly elections in May when he secured the biggest increase in the vote out of all the parties.

Dominic said: "I am delighted to have been chosen by the Lib Dem membership to fight for a better deal for our area.

"Labour have taken our area for granted for too long. During the Assembly campaign, it became brutally clear that people want a change. We are the only party who can challenge Labour and build a better place for everyone.

"I will fight for cleaner and safer streets, a better environment for all of us, more investment and more police on the streets.

"I have the passion and the enthusiasm to fight for our area, and I am determined to make a difference to people's lives.
